Julia L. Agne, MD is a palliative care physician and early career investigator whose research centers on digital health interventions for remote symptom monitoring for individuals living with advanced cancer. In 2018, she launched an embedded palliative care clinic in Thoracic Medical Oncology for patients with advanced lung cancer. She has published research on logistical barriers to outpatient palliative care delivery, impact of palliative care on healthcare utilization, and expansion of the catchment area of palliative care through an embedded clinic model. Dr. Agne is a recipient of the 2023 NCCN Young Investigator Award for her project on remote symptom monitoring with patient-triggered referral to palliative care for symptom management. She is also a member of the ACS National Lung Cancer Round Table Survivorship Task Group, NCCN Adult Cancer Pain Guideline Panel, and past chair of the AAHPM Outpatient Special Interest Group.
